Clare Says:Farm to Table photography workshop date set!
Well, it took a bit of planning, but I have FINALLY set the date for the very first Farm Photo Safari: Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.
I am so excited about this class!!
The workshop will take place on Vashon Island, where participants will tour two farms. We will start at Seabreeze Farm, where we’ll spend some time with the cows, chickens, pigs, ducks, and sheep, and then we’ll head off to photograph the Seabreeze butcher shop, located right next to La Boucherie.
After that, we’ll move on to Kurtwood Farms, and check out Kurt’s lovely property, animals, vegetable gardens and new cheese cave, (which is pretty darn cool.)
The last part of the day will focus on natural light food photography, using some of the ingredients produced by these two farms.
*Lunch and transportation on the island will be provided.
DATE: Tuesday, September 7th, 2010
TIME: 9am until approximately 4 or 5pm
COST: $300 (payment due at time of registration)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: A digital SLR, a decent working knowledge of your camera, and runner boots
WHAT’S RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED: A laptop, a card reader, and a tripod
TO REGISTER: Email me to reserve your spot (clare at clarebarboza dot com)

rats, I’ll be on the east coast that week. I hope you’ll plan another one of these — I’d definitely come up for it.
Would you ever plan on doing a workshop in NY?
Clearly I missed this, but will be watching for the next one! Sounds incredibly inspirational and educational.
Can’t wait!!!
xx
Hi,
Do you have other workshop scheduled?
Thanks!
Jonah
Hi Clare,
I was wondering if you will be offering another farm photo tour soon? Or even thought about coming to Missoula, MT to teach this class? I attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography a few years ago and I could see them being interested in hosting you. I would to learn more about styling and food photo tips and would be interested in hearing about upcoming workshops as well.
Great work & information here!
Thanks!
Cathrine
I would love to go to a workshop like this one or some of your others. Are you planning any workshops for 2011?
thanks
Peggy
Anita, Jonah, Cathrine, and Peggy, I am SO sorry it took me so long to respond! I am afraid I have been really bad about checking in on this blog lately. I promise to do better going forward.
Anyway, yes, I will DEFINITELY be doing more Farm to Table workshops although probably not until Spring because of the weather. In the meantime, I am teaching some food photography classes at the studio. The next one is 1/15. If any of you are interested in hearing about upcoming workshops, email me (clare at clarebarboza dot com) and I’ll keep you updated.
